Friction to Flow in Manufacturing

While manufacturing systems are often designed far from the factory floor, the people who operate them experience every friction point firsthand. This project set out to bridge that gap through a comprehensive UX audit of a digital product used in a manufacturing context. The focus was on understanding how real users navigate, interpret, and interact with the system in their day-to-day workflows.
Through heuristic evaluation, user journey mapping, and interface analysis, the audit uncovered key usability issues, inefficiencies, and moments of breakdown that impacted both productivity and user confidence. The outcome was a set of clear, actionable recommendations aimed at simplifying workflows, improving clarity, and aligning the product more closely with the mental models of its users.
By translating operational realities into design insights, this project highlights how thoughtful UX can transform complex systems into intuitive tools, ultimately supporting both user efficiency and broader business goals.
